Punjabi Wedding Florist

Bold, celebratory, full-scale Punjabi Hindu and Sikh wedding production across California.

Punjabi weddings are among the most visually confident, theatrically staged, and celebratory Indian weddings we produce. Whether Punjabi Hindu or Punjabi Sikh, the aesthetic vocabulary tilts toward saturated color, dense floral coverage, and production scale that matches the exuberance of the ceremonies themselves. CHIC Flowers' Punjabi wedding practice covers full multi-day productions with heavy marigold and rose mandaps, theatrical baraat processions with choreographed sparklers and dhol-driven entrances, and sangeet stage productions that anchor the wedding week.

The Punjabi aesthetic — saturated and unapologetic

Punjabi wedding palettes lean saturated — deep crimson, burnt orange marigold, fuchsia, gold, and jewel-toned accents. Density runs higher than almost any other regional tradition we design for. Mandaps are often fully covered in floral from pillar base to canopy top with ten to fifteen thousand stems, phoolon ki chaadar canopies feature prominently, and sangeet stages are built for maximum theatrical impact.

Our Punjabi mandaps most often use the classical four-pillar form, with pillar coverage in marigold, rose, and orchid layered for visual depth. Phoolon ki chaadar — the bride's floral canopy carried overhead during key ceremonial moments — is standard scope for Punjabi weddings, dressed in jasmine, mogra, and marigold strings.

Baraat as theatrical event

Punjabi baraats are the most theatrical of any Indian wedding tradition. Our Punjabi baraat productions typically include ghodi dressing with dense floral coverage, dhol-driven choreography, sparklers where permits allow, and processional canopies carried by groomsmen. Confetti cannons and petal drops at the milni moment are common. For families that want it, we produce bhangra-team integration so the procession has dedicated dance performance at key stopping points.

Fire permits for sparklers require advance coordination in most California jurisdictions. We handle the permit filing; the family supplies the fire dancers, dhol team, and bhangra troupe bookings through the planner.

Sangeet — the theatrical high point

Punjabi sangeets are the centerpiece of the wedding week. Our sangeet productions for Punjabi families often involve the largest single-event floral investment of the entire wedding — elaborate stage backdrops, suspended canopies, multi-tier tablescape progression, and LED-integrated lighting design. Dance performances are a major element, with numbers across family and friends, and our design keeps the floor clear and the stage visible from every seat.

Frequently asked questions

How does a Punjabi Hindu wedding differ from a Punjabi Sikh wedding?+
Punjabi Hindu weddings include a mandap with havan (fire ceremony) as the ritual center. Punjabi Sikh weddings center on the Guru Granth Sahib palki with no fire. Other cultural elements — baraat, sangeet, mehndi, haldi — are similar in style and density between the two traditions. Our design adjusts the ceremony structure accordingly.
Can we do sparklers for the baraat?+
Yes, with fire permit coordination. Most California jurisdictions allow cold-spark (non-ignition) sparklers for baraat processions with a permit and setback requirements. Some restrict even cold-spark during seasonal fire danger periods. We handle permit filing and will advise on feasibility by venue and date.
What is the typical Punjabi wedding production budget?+
Luxury Punjabi weddings with full floral density and theatrical sangeet typically run the higher end of our Indian wedding range — $150,000 to $400,000+ across the full wedding week for 250–450 guests at a premier California venue. Our pricing page has transparent ceremony-by-ceremony range cards.
Can our sangeet support live dhol and amplified music?+
Yes, depending on venue noise ordinance. Napa Valley venues have stricter noise rules; LA hotel ballrooms are more flexible. We coordinate with your DJ, dhol team, and venue sound management on a production schedule that respects noise cutoffs and still supports the sangeet energy.
