Pop-Up and Retail Activation Florals

Entrance pieces, photo moments, and staffed flower bars for brand takeovers that have to work for days, not hours.

CHIC Flowers designs and installs florals for brand pop-ups, activations, and retail takeovers at shopping centers and on retail streets across Southern California: Fashion Island and South Coast Plaza in Orange County, Rodeo Drive and Melrose Place in Los Angeles, Westfield UTC and La Jolla in San Diego. An activation is judged on foot traffic and photographs, so we design the facade that stops people, the moment they photograph, and the florals that keep looking fresh through a multi-day run.

The facade and the entrance

A pop-up has seconds to pull someone off the concourse. We treat the exterior as the first installation: a floral facade or canopy over the entrance, planters and sculptural pieces that extend the brand's palette onto the walkway, and a window composition visible from across the center. Everything is built on temporary, free-standing structures we own, so nothing attaches to the landlord's fabric, and we confirm the center's installation rules and loading windows with management before the design is final.

The photo moment inside

Inside, one piece is designed to be photographed: a floral wall in the brand's colors with the product set into it, a floor-to-ceiling column, or a suspended cloud over the central display. We place it where the phone naturally points, light it with the brand's team, and keep the product in the frame. Secondary florals dress the display tables and the register so the product shots carry the same palette.

Flower bars as the activation

For brands that want guests to do something, a staffed flower bar is the activation: a styled station of seasonal stems with wrapping paper and ribbon in the brand's palette, run by our designers, where guests build a bouquet and leave with the brand's colors in their hands and on their feed. It works for a launch weekend, a Mother's Day or Valentine's retail moment, or a loyalty event, and it can run on a timed schedule to manage queues.

Multi-day runs and refresh

Most activations run three days to three weeks. We design the facade and the hero piece for longevity, use preserved and premium faux elements where a run is long and the brand agrees, and schedule fresh-flower refreshes before the center opens so the installation looks like day one on the last day. Strike happens on the final night, inside the loading window the center assigns.

We also coordinate the paperwork a center asks of vendors, including insurance certificates and approved-vendor forms, and we work alongside the brand's fabrication and AV partners on a shared load-in plan.

Frequently asked questions

Can you install at a shopping center like Fashion Island or South Coast Plaza?+
Yes. We build on free-standing structures we own, confirm each center's installation rules and loading windows with management, and supply the insurance and vendor paperwork they require.
How do the flowers stay fresh for a two-week pop-up?+
We design the long-run pieces with hardy stems, preserved and premium faux elements where the brand agrees, and schedule fresh refreshes before opening so the installation reads as new throughout.
What does a flower bar involve?+
A styled station of seasonal stems, wrapping, and ribbon in your palette, staffed by our designers. Guests build a bouquet to take home, and it can run on a timed schedule to manage lines.
How far ahead should we book an activation?+
Four to eight weeks for a facade and photo moment, since center approvals take time; a flower bar alone can often be arranged in two to three weeks.
Can you match the brand's colors exactly?+
Yes. We work from your color standards and packaging, sample stems in advance, and use ribbon and wrapping in the same palette for the flower bar and gifting.
