New Year's Eve Event Florals

Ballroom and rooftop installations for hotel galas and brand parties, from the first pour to the midnight moment.

CHIC Flowers designs florals for New Year's Eve galas at luxury hotels and for brand-hosted NYE parties across San Diego, Los Angeles, and Orange County. The scope is built around the arc of the night: an arrival installation, bar and dance-floor pieces that hold up to a crowd, and a midnight moment designed for the countdown photograph. We can turn a room from its Christmas look to a New Year's Eve look within a day, strike after the last guest leaves, and leave the property reset for January.

The look: metallics and white

New Year's Eve florals read best in a tight palette: white and ivory blooms with silver, champagne, and gold, black accents for a formal gala, and glossy foliage that catches light. Where the hotel's ballroom is already dressed in warm December greenery, we shift the floral program to cool metallics so the room visibly changes from Christmas to New Year's. For brand parties the palette can carry the brand's signature color as a single accent against the metallics.

Arrival, bars, and the dance floor

Guests arrive in evening dress and expect a moment at the door: a lit installation, an overscale wreath of white blooms and metal, or a floral tunnel into the ballroom. Bars take long, low pieces that leave the counter free and survive a crowd leaning on them. Dance-floor installations hang above or frame the floor from the edges, so nothing is at knee height when the room fills after dinner; we engineer them on structures we own and confirm rigging points and weight with the property.

Rooftop and terrace parties need wind-rated structures, weighted bases, and blooms that tolerate a cold coastal night, and we design the install for the conditions rather than against them.

The midnight moment

The countdown is the image of the night. We design a dedicated backdrop or stage piece for it, lit for photography and placed where the crowd naturally gathers, and coordinate with the production team on balloon drops, confetti, or pyrotechnic effects so flowers are placed clear of them.

Christmas to New Year's in a day

Many hotels host a holiday program through December 30 and a New Year's gala on the 31st in the same room. We plan the changeover as its own scope: strike or re-dress the December pieces, install the NYE program, and complete the swap within the property's turnover window, which can be a single day. The two looks are designed together so vessels, structures, and lighting carry over and only the florals and finishes change.

Late-night strike and the January reset

Strike begins after the last guest leaves, often in the early hours of January 1, and is scheduled with the hotel's banquet and security teams. We remove every floral element and can coordinate the broader seasonal reset so the property's lobby and public spaces return to their January look without a gap. New Year's Eve programs are quoted per scope; our cost guide explains what drives the number. Share your date, rooms, and guest count for a complimentary consultation. Frequently asked questions

Can you change the ballroom from Christmas to New Year's Eve in one day?+
Yes, when the two looks are planned together so structures and vessels carry over and only florals and finishes change. We confirm the turnover window with the property and staff the crew to match.
Do you design florals for rooftop or terrace New Year's parties?+
Yes. We use wind-rated structures with weighted bases and choose blooms that hold up on a cold coastal night.
Will flowers interfere with a balloon drop or confetti at midnight?+
No. We coordinate with the production team on drop zones and effects and keep floral pieces clear of them.
When does strike happen?+
After the last guest leaves, usually in the early hours of January 1, on a schedule set with the hotel's banquet and security teams.
How early should a hotel book New Year's Eve florals?+
By October, ideally alongside the December holiday program so the changeover is designed into both scopes.
