Jewish Wedding Flowers at Hotel Bel-Air

A garden chuppah by Swan Lake and an intimate ballroom reception.

Hotel Bel-Air is a garden hideaway in Stone Canyon — Swan Lake, stone bridges, bougainvillea, and a quiet luxury that suits an intimate, deeply personal Jewish wedding. CHIC Flowers designs weddings at the hotel from our Los Angeles practice: a freestanding chuppah in the gardens, bedeken and ketubah-signing settings in the courtyards and suites, and reception florals for the Garden Ballroom and its terrace.

A chuppah in the gardens

Ceremonies at Hotel Bel-Air are often set beside Swan Lake, the pond guests cross by footbridge on the way in, or on a garden lawn, with mature trees and the hotel's pink stucco as the backdrop. A chuppah here should feel as if it grew in place: a slender freestanding frame, garden roses, peonies in season, jasmine, and loose greenery in white, ivory, and blush, with the canopy kept open to the trees and sky. We weight the structure for the canyon breeze and build it so it can move indoors if the weather turns.

Because the hotel's gardens are the point, we keep aisle florals low — petals, meadow-style clusters, or lanterns — so the walk to the chuppah reads as a walk through the garden.

Bedeken, ketubah, and yichud

The hotel's courtyards and suites suit the pre-ceremony rituals. We design a bedeken setting in a courtyard or garden room with a dressed chair and loose florals; a ketubah-signing table in a quiet nook with a low arrangement that leaves room for the ketubah, the witnesses, and the pen; and a yichud room in a suite with a small arrangement and a plate of food the couple can actually eat.

Garden Ballroom receptions

The Garden Ballroom and its terrace suit a romantic centerpiece program: garden-style arrangements at mixed heights, candlelight, a head table or sweetheart backdrop built from the chuppah florals, and a palette that carries from the lake to the ballroom. For dinner under the sky, the terrace takes lanterns and low florals so the canyon and the garden lighting do the rest.

Kosher coordination and timing

Where the wedding uses a kosher caterer, we coordinate access and installation timing with the hotel's events team and the mashgiach. A Saturday-night wedding begins after Havdalah, and the hotel's intimate scale means a short walk between ceremony and reception, so one timeline covers both installs. We confirm the hotel's requirements at the walkthrough and design within them.
