Maronite, Melkite, Orthodox, and Coptic ceremonies, with the zaffe and kosha to follow.
A large share of Arab Americans are Christian — Lebanese Maronites and Melkites, Syrian and Palestinian Antiochian Orthodox, Egyptian Copts, and Jordanian and Iraqi Christians — and their weddings begin with a church ceremony before the zaffe and kosha at the reception. CHIC Flowers designs Arab Christian weddings across Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego, from the altar to the ballroom.

Cultural wedding imagery is being prepared for this page.
Maronite and Melkite ceremonies follow Eastern Catholic rites; Antiochian Orthodox and Coptic ceremonies include the crowning of the couple, similar to Armenian and Greek Orthodox weddings. Each church has its own guidelines about florals near the altar and iconostasis, and some Orthodox parishes restrict what can be placed in the sanctuary. We confirm the rules before designing the altar, aisle, and entrance florals.
For Orthodox and Coptic weddings, the crowns are placed on the couple during the ceremony, and a table near the altar holds the crowns, rings, and Gospel. We style that table with low florals, keep the sanctuary design within the parish's rules, and plan which pieces move to the reception.
After church, an Arab Christian reception looks like any grand Arab wedding: the zaffe entrance, a kosha for the couple, flower walls, and tall centerpieces, with dabke and live music. Alcohol is usually served, so any hotel or ballroom works, and mixed seating is the norm.
Los Angeles and Orange County have Maronite, Melkite, Antiochian Orthodox, and Coptic parishes, and San Diego and El Cajon have large Chaldean and Coptic communities. We work with the parish and the reception venue to plan the church-to-ballroom move.
