From the katb al-kitab to the walima, designed with your family's practice in mind.
A Muslim Arab wedding usually unfolds over several events: the katb al-kitab, where the marriage contract is signed; a henna night; and the walima, the wedding reception, with its zaffe and kosha. Families differ in how they observe — some fully separated, some mixed, most alcohol-free. CHIC Flowers designs each event across Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego, following the couple's and family's practice.
Portfolio curation in progress
Cultural wedding imagery is being prepared for this page.
The contract signing is the religious ceremony, often held at home, at a mosque, or in a private room at the venue, with a sheikh or imam officiating. We design the signing table, a backdrop, and seating for the couple, the wali, and witnesses, in a softer palette than the reception. See our katb al-kitab page for detail.
Held before the wedding, the henna night is colorful and often women-only. We design the bride's seat and backdrop, the henna tray, lanterns, and textiles in warm jewel tones.
The walima is the reception — the zaffe, the kosha, the dinner, and the dancing. For mixed receptions, the design is the same as any grand Arab wedding. For separated receptions, the women's celebration usually carries the main kosha and flower walls, and the men's side has its own, simpler setting. We design both according to the family's arrangement, verified with each couple.
Alcohol-free receptions and halal catering are the norm and do not change the floral design. Some families ask for modesty considerations in photo areas — a flower wall placed where women can be photographed privately, for example. We plan for these requests at the start.
