A colorful, intimate celebration before the wedding.
Laylat al-henna — the henna night — is a pre-wedding celebration where henna is applied to the bride, surrounded by family and friends, music, and dancing. It's usually more intimate and more colorful than the wedding itself. CHIC Flowers designs henna nights across Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego: the bride's seat and backdrop, the henna tray, lanterns and textiles, and florals that suit the warmth of the evening.

Customs vary between families and countries. At many henna nights, the bride wears a traditional or embroidered dress, the henna is carried in on a decorated tray with candles, and female relatives and friends sing and dance around her. Some families hold a women-only evening; others celebrate together.
We ask about your family's customs at the start and design the space around them.
The bride's seat is the focal point. We design a low stage or seating area with a floral backdrop, cushions and textiles, and lanterns — a softer, more intimate version of the kosha. Palettes lean warmer and richer than the wedding: deep reds, gold, emerald, and jewel tones are common, along with blush and white for a lighter look.
We style the henna tray with flowers and candles for its entrance, and design supporting details — lanterns along an entrance path, low floral arrangements on lounge tables, and a sweets or dessert table.
Many henna nights are held at home, in a garden, or in a smaller room at a banquet hall. For home celebrations we design compact installations that fit the living room or garden and set up and take down on the same day.
