Designing for the Taglyan ballroom

Taglyan's ballroom is built for large Armenian weddings: a high ceiling, statement chandeliers, and a floor plan designed for hundreds of guests and a big dance floor. In a room this grand, small arrangements disappear. The design needs height, density, and a clear focal point at the sweetheart stage.

We plan the room as a whole — the stage, the dance floor, and the table layout — so the florals frame the couple from every seat and the chandeliers read as part of the design rather than competing with it.

The sweetheart stage

The sweetheart stage is the centerpiece of a Taglyan reception. We build a floral backdrop and front arrangements scaled to the stage, keeping sightlines open for photos and for the family toasts. Many couples choose a palette that echoes the ballroom's gold and crystal, with white roses, orchids, and hydrangea as the base.

For a more dramatic look, we add floral walls or tall floral columns on either side of the stage so it holds its own against the room's height.

Centerpiece scale

Tall gold-and-crystal centerpieces are the signature of an Armenian reception at Taglyan. We set them high enough to clear eye level across the table, so guests can talk and still see the stage, and alternate with lower designs where the layout calls for it.

For large guest counts, we plan the centerpiece program by table count first, then set the mix of tall and low pieces to fit the budget.

Load-in and the church-to-reception move

Most Taglyan weddings start with an Apostolic crowning ceremony at a church in Hollywood, Glendale, or Burbank. We install the church first, then move suitable pieces to Taglyan while the ballroom team works through its own setup window. We confirm Taglyan's load-in times and installation rules at the first walkthrough and plan the crew schedule around them.
