Elegance Meets Ocean Views
La Jolla Country Club offers one of the most stunning backdrops in Southern California – sweeping ocean views, impeccable architecture, and lush grounds that beg for beautiful florals. This wedding showcased all of that and more.
The Couple's Vision
Emma and David wanted their wedding to feel like an elegant garden party with a touch of European sophistication. They were drawn to a color palette of soft whites, creams, and touches of blush, with lots of textural greenery.
The Ceremony
We transformed the outdoor ceremony space into a romantic garden:
The Arch: A lush, asymmetrical structure covered in:
- White garden roses
- Cream lisianthus
- Trailing smilax vines
- Italian ruscus
- Low arrangements on cocktail tables
- A stunning bar back installation
- Scattered petals on the floor
Aisle Markers: Elegant arrangements in stone urns lined the aisle, creating a sense of arrival and importance.
The View: We were careful to frame rather than block the stunning ocean views – they were the ultimate backdrop!

The Reception
Inside the ballroom, we created magic:
Centerpieces: A mix of tall candelabra arrangements and low, lush garden-style pieces. The variety added visual interest while ensuring guests could see across tables.
The Head Table: A continuous garland of greenery and flowers ran the length of the table, punctuated by taper candles in gold holders.
Ceiling Treatment: Delicate strands of greenery and fairy lights created a magical canopy effect.
Bridal Party Flowers
Emma's Bouquet: An elegant, rounded bouquet of white peonies, garden roses, and ranunculus with long silk ribbons
Bridesmaids: Smaller versions of the bridal bouquet in soft blush tones
Boutonnieres: Simple white rose buds with eucalyptus
The Team Effort
This wedding required a team of 6 florists working from 7 AM to 4 PM. We installed over 200 arrangements, 50 feet of garlands, and used more than 2,000 stems of flowers.
