Mediterranean Elegance in San Diego
The Fairmont Grand Del Mar is one of San Diego's most prestigious wedding venues, and this celebration showcased exactly why. With its Mediterranean architecture, manicured grounds, and impeccable service, it's a dream venue for luxury weddings.
The Vision
Jennifer and Thomas wanted a wedding that felt like a European destination celebration – classic, elegant, and utterly romantic. They chose a palette of ivory, soft blush, and touches of gold.
Ceremony in the Rose Garden
The Fairmont's rose garden is magical on its own, but we enhanced it further:
The Arbor: A lush, romantic structure featuring:
- Thousands of ivory roses
- Cascading jasmine
- Soft blush peonies
- Delicate ranunculus
- Tall: Crystal candelabras with overflowing rose arrangements
- Low: Dense, garden-style pieces in gold vessels
- 30 garden roses in three shades of ivory
- Sweet peas for fragrance and movement
- Finished with silk ribbon and her grandmother's brooch
- 8-person floral team
- 12-hour setup day
- 3,500+ stems of flowers
- Close collaboration with the venue's events team
Aisle Design: Rose petals in an ombré pattern – ivory to soft pink – led the bride to her groom.
Grand Ballroom Reception
The ballroom's soaring ceilings and crystal chandeliers called for equally dramatic florals:
Centerpieces: Alternating tall and low arrangements:
Head Table: A 20-foot garland of roses, peonies, and eucalyptus created a lush backdrop for the couple.
Dance Floor: We suspended a stunning floral installation above the dance floor – a circular chandelier dripping with flowers and crystals.
