A Dream Wedding by the Sea
When Sarah and Michael chose the historic Hotel Del Coronado for their wedding, they envisioned a celebration that would honor the venue's timeless elegance while adding their own romantic touch. As their florist, I was thrilled to bring their vision to life.
The Vision
The couple wanted their wedding to feel like a romantic garden party that had somehow floated to the beach. They requested soft, dreamy colors – blush, cream, and sage – with touches of gold to complement the Del's Victorian architecture.
The Ceremony Setup
For the oceanfront ceremony, we created a stunning floral arch that framed the Pacific Ocean:
- Structure: A asymmetrical arch featuring climbing roses and cascading greenery
- Flowers: Garden roses, lisianthus, ranunculus, and eucalyptus
- Accents: Delicate white orchids that seemed to dance in the sea breeze
- Blush garden roses
- White peonies
- Pale pink ranunculus
- Eucalyptus and Italian ruscus
- Finished with flowing silk ribbons
The aisle was lined with lush arrangements in gold urns, creating an elegant pathway to the altar.
Reception Florals
The Crown Room reception featured our most elaborate work:
Centerpieces: A mix of tall and low arrangements ensured guests could see each other across tables while still enjoying abundant florals. Tall gold candelabras held overflowing arrangements of roses and hydrangeas, while lower centerpieces featured dense clusters of blooms in vintage gold vessels.
Sweetheart Table: The couple's table featured a lush garland of greenery and flowers that cascaded from the table to the floor, creating a romantic nest for the newlyweds.
Hanging Installation: Above the dance floor, we installed a stunning circular floral chandelier – a showstopper that guests talked about all night.

Behind the Scenes
Creating florals for the Hotel Del requires careful coordination with their experienced events team. We arrived at 6 AM to begin the setup, ensuring every bloom was perfect before the 4 PM ceremony.
The Result
The wedding was featured in local publications and remains one of our most-requested inspiration weddings. Sarah and Michael's trust in our creative vision resulted in a celebration that was both timeless and uniquely theirs.
